Planeta launch day

Meno Avilys

The new film and media space Planeta, located at A. Gostauto str. 2, Vilnius is inviting to opening day events. The name should be known to those interested in the cultural history of the city. It's the same where the Planeta cinema has been operating since 1963. Initially, it had two halls, but after an economic breakdown, a second one housed a computer game room and later a studio of film director Sarunas Bartas.
After the break, Vilnius City Council decided to return these premises to the map of Vilnius's public cultural spaces - Skalvijos Kino Centras, Meno Avilys and Vaiku Zeme are going to operate there.
Planeta will be open to anyone interested in film and media culture: public mediatheque is going to be open, and the former cinema hall will be open for video screenings, film workshops, meetings, presentations, conferences and similar events.
Anyone interested in exploring the new space is invited to Planeta launch event on December 12th.
